Credit Controller
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as Credit Controller working at our Leeds office as part of our finance team.
Salary: £28,000-£30,000 (dependent on experience) + benefits
About the role
As the credit controller you will be reporting to the finance manager, and you will manage the Sales Ledger for Rhodar Industrial Services.
You will play a vital role in a company’s finance or accounts department, ensuring customers pay their invoices on time and that the organization maintains healthy cash flow.
Role responsibilities
- Cash Collection in line with Company Targets
- Managing the debtor’s ledger to prioritise accounts to be chased for payment
- Maintaining regular contact with customers to ensure payment terms are kept to a minimum
- Requesting payment from customers by telephone / letter / email with a view to reducing overall debt
- Liaising with Regional Offices to resolve invoice queries within company targets
- Allocating incoming cash in order to ascertain the outstanding debtor position by close of play each day and ensure unallocated cash is kept below company target
- Maintaining detailed contact information on all customers to allow for the efficient operation of the Credit Control function
- Weekly Reporting of overdue debt position to the business
- Sending Customer Statements monthly, or as required
- Raise credit notes to customers where appropriate
- Creating & Maintaining Customer Account information
- Completing Month End tasks to accounting timetable
- Reviewing current procedures and suggesting efficiencies if necessary
About you
- Previous credit control experience (preferably within the construction/contracting industry)
- Excellent computer literacy is essential, particularly experience of Excel & report writing
- Excellent attention to detail
- You will have effective and excellent communication skills
- A self-motivated individual
- Friendly, calm and professional manner
- Strong influencing skills and ability to build credibility quickly
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to change and work effectively as part of a team
