Sustainability & Social Value Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as Sustainability & Social Value Coordinator, working at our Head Office in Leeds.

Salary: £28,000-£32,000 + benefits

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious, proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our growing team. This is a hybrid role where your time will be split, to varying degrees, between two key deliverables:

  • Planning & coordinating our social value (SV) programme: You will play a crucial role in supporting colleagues and project stakeholders in the planning, delivery and reporting on social value activities undertaken across our four business disciplines. This will combine managing specific SV commitments made within our tender submissions and more general and ad-hoc SV activities undertaken across the business.
  • Managing our environmental & sustainability strategy implementation: You will also help to oversee and implement the decarbonisation of our business, through the delivery of our carbon reduction strategy. Guided and mentored by our external sustainability experts, the role will include collecting and analysing data and implementing initiatives on the ground that will help us move towards our net-zero targets.

This new and varied role reflects the increasing importance placed on these two disciplines, as part of our wider ESG strategy. It presents an excellent opportunity for the successful applicant to practice both the technical/scientific rigour encompassed within our sustainability initiatives and the creativity and stakeholder interaction necessary for social value project delivery.

The successful applicant should demonstrate the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with multiple stakeholders (clients, site teams, supply chain and delivery partners); manage outreach and local stakeholder engagement, coupled with planning, resourcing and scheduling events.

This role will involve regular travel to our project sites and regional offices.
