Rhodar recognised for lowering CO2 emissions

Rhodar drivers receive recognition for lowering CO2 emissions

Posted on in Company News

Rhodar is proud to have received a silver certification from Masternaut, a leading telematics company specialising in fleet and asset management, for improving fuel efficiency across its fleet of more than 200 commercial vehicles in 2018.

Masternaut presents awards to companies that have reduced their fuel consumption and CO2 emissions through eco-driving or optimising their fleet on a year-on-year basis.

This level of reduction in fuel consumption over the last 12 months underlines Rhodar’s commitment to operating a green fleet as part of a three-stage strategy for improving efficiency:

  • Driver education through the AA’s Drive Tech “Behind the Wheel” assessment team
  • Analysis of individual driver data provided by Masternaut to enable Rhodar to identify further areas for improvement
  • A rolling programme by Rhodar to update its fleet to be fully Euro 6 compliant

The AA’s Drive Tech team conducts real time, behind the wheel assessments to contribute to the reduction. In addition to this, Rhodar’s ‘replacement cycle’ is decommissioning older, less fuel-efficient vehicles and replacing them with up-to-date Euro 6 compliant ones.

Steve Haigh, transport manager at Rhodar said: “We are constantly aware of the environmental issues around commercial vehicle emissions. These results from Masternaut provide proof that Rhodar continues to drive in the right direction as we seek to minimise our impact on the environment.”

Rhodar was able to specifically focus on lowering its fuel consumption and reduce CO2 emissions through the Masternaut Connect System. The system monitors live fuel use, driver behaviour and acceleration / braking trends against efficiency guidelines, which are all measured by Masternaut’s CAN clip technology. The system also supports the fleet with an in-cab app, which provides coaching directly to the driver of the vehicle.

All data collected from Masternaut is independently verified by the Energy Saving Trust.
