50 Years of Rhodar: Antarctic - A Project at the End of the Earth

Did you know - Nearly 25 years ago, Rhodar became the first company in the world to carry out asbestos abatement in British Antarctica, supporting the BAS station modernisation programme.
Located over 13,000km from the UK, Rothera Research Station on Adelaide Island served as the base for one of the most remote projects in Rhodar's history across several facilities in the Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic.
With the challenges of equipment logistics, Antarctic training, Drakes Passage voyages, the great help from the RRS ships, BAS and the RAF it remains one of the most unique projects in our history and a testament to the expertise, planning and determination that have defined Rhodar for 50 years.
