Rhodar appointed demolition contractor for £135m Wigan redevelopment

Rhodar is delighted to announce its appointment as demolition (& associated works) contractor for the prestigious £135m Galleries redevelopment, in Wigan.
Our works encompass a six-phase, 18-month programme of soft strip, full demolition and the creation of a development platform, across the 41,000m² site footprint.

The scheme is part of an ambitious strategic regeneration programme being planned by the Council and Cityheart Limited, to reinvigorate central Wigan and provide a vibrant new retail, leisure, commercial and residential destination.
Our team will be coordinating closely with construction contractor BCEGI (UK) Ltd to enable a programme of progressive rebuild work to be undertaken, as we continue to complete other phases of our demolition activities across the site.
Initial works by our team commenced in early October and we’re looking forwards to playing a key role in delivering this significant new development for the town of Wigan.
