Celebrating 50 years of Rhodar!

Officially launching our 50th year celebrations, Managing Director, Jason Davy, comments:
"This week, Rhodar celebrates 50 years in business - and it is difficult to put into words just how proud that makes me feel.
When I think about where we started in 1976, with a small office in Leeds, a handful of people offering asbestos removal services, and compare it with the business we are today, the journey has been quite remarkable.
Rhodar now has 14 offices/facilities, more than 500 colleagues across the UK, four specialist services and a turnover of over £70 million - something that would have been almost unimaginable in those early days.
But milestones like this are about far more than numbers.
They are about the people who have built the business, the clients who have placed their trust in us and the suppliers and partners who have supported us along the way. Some colleagues have spent a large part of their working lives with Rhodar, and many clients have stayed with us for decades. I think that says a great deal about the relationships and culture we have created.
Like any business that has been around for 50 years, we have experienced difficult periods. Markets have changed, pressures have increased and we have faced our fair share of challenges. We have not always got everything right, but we have always tried to respond honestly, learn, adapt and move forward. Integrity has been central to Rhodar from the beginning, and it remains just as important today.
There have also been many great moments, major high-profile projects, plenty of change and a lot of fun along the way – and whilst our brand and services may have evolved, the character of the business has remained remarkably consistent.
For me, Rhodar has always been about our people. Their knowledge, commitment, personalities and willingness to support one another, are what make this company special.
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to every colleague, client, supplier and friend of the business - past and present - who has played a part in our story. I also want to remember those who are sadly no longer with us, but whose contribution will always be part of Rhodar.
Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing some of the stories and memories from our first 50 years. I hope you enjoy looking back with us.
