Rhodar recently played a key role in the inaugural ‘Retail Asbestos Working Group’ (RAWG) conference held at ASDA’s Merchandising Centre of Excellence in Leeds on 4th September. The Group’s membership includes Boots, Tesco, Marks & Spencer and ASDA and was established in 2012 to promote best-practice in asbestos management within the demanding retail environment.

The conference was attended by over 400 delegates from all aspects of the UK retail sector along with representatives from the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) and the HSE.

Darren Payne, Rhodar’s Group Commercial Manager, was one of the keynote speakers at the event and Bernard Brannan oversaw the building of a full-size mock-up of an asbestos removal enclosure adjacent to the conference hall. Delegates were invited to walk through the enclosure.
