As an enabling works partner, Rhodar is often the first to work on a site. This means we have a key role in ensuring the projects we work on have sustainability built in from the outset.
We are committed to ensuring our standards of environmental management and performance are industry leading.

Carbon Reduction
We recognise our role in supporting the transition to net zero in the built environment. Rhodar’s Carbon Reduction Plan sets out our progress and plans for achieving net zero across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2050 at the latest, in line with the UK’s national ambitions.
In 2025 we agreed a comprehensive Carbon Reduction Strategy for net zero that is based around five strategic priorities. We will report our progress against each strategic priority on an annual basis.
Our Strategic Priorities
Our strategy focuses on five key priorities designed to leverage the most impactful options available to us, each backed by a dedicated roadmap: Manage Better (Data, Targets & Governance); Use Better (Energy Management); Move Better (Low Carbon Fleet); Operate Better (Plant Decarbonisation); and Buy Better (Sustainable Procurement). This is demonstrated in the below graphic:

Social Value
Making a commitment and positive difference to our customers, our staff, and the communities in which we operate is at the heart of what we do.
Rhodar’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy sets the foundation for a broader ESG framework that recognises our responsibility in maintaining the highest corporate, economic, social, and environmental practices, criteria, actions and standards.
This has been developed to reflect the steps we take to monitor and improve our performance in relation to four key ‘Responsibilities’, aimed at embedding sustainability into all our activities:
In 2026, we will be launching our first ESG Impact Report, which will outline in detail our recent achievements, progress and plans across each Responsibility.
