TWO HAZARDS - ONE SOLUTION FOR OUR CUSTOMERS
Further to successful remediation of Mould in other properties, Rhodar have now successfully managed a simultaneous project on behalf of a leading high street retail chain to remediate and abate both Mould and asbestos. After identifying the presence of mould whilst looking at an asbestos removal project, Rhodar's partners Environmental Building Solutions, carried out contact and air samples, finding high levels of mould in the fabric and atmosphere in the building.
The client took a pragmatic view and sealed off the affected areas. Using abatement techniques and Rhodar's SMART (Safe Mould Assessment & Removal Techniques) the project was managed with minimum commercial disruption to the client and with complete success. This is the first time that two major hazards have been managed using safe non toxic materials as well as asbestos removal.
The project manager said "we identified this as a potential risk to the client over and above the asbestos risk... They were very satisfied that the techniques we employed posed little risk to our skilled operatives, their staff and products. Bringing the two methodologies together proved to be an interesting challenge but altogether worked well"
